It was a nice post but you forgot to mention one more thing about the north Indian tendency to refer to all South Indians as Madrasi. The funniest thing is they don't know south India consists more than just Madrasis.

It is a good post with a conscientious underlay but I must say the analysis is not rigorous especially your comments in relation to infrastructure. If the end result is poor it is because of poor overseeing and organisation. Sine you propose to write more on the subject I'll suggest you could take a specific work example and analyse it rather than making generalised observations.It would come out as a meaningful dissertation and
not an essay.

I think(on a serious note though)..its my own perceptions..may be different from reality..a individual loves the place where he is born n grows in initial 5-6 years or in some cases 1 year also..he has an attachment to it when he feels the emotions attach to the place of his parents & relative even if he has spent most of his time in other place/city...he eventually starts taking a pride n emotional comfort in it..and wants to settle there..i want to point my good friend Madhu(as we all called him in School out of love n care) attention to one of our principal A.Madhav Sir..who was a very good person n my father being a teacher in the same school is still very close to him personally..so Madhav Sir was went to USA n was paid heavelly..He was basically from Tamilnadu only..a madrasi(as madhu has put the title of his post)..he called one day to papa and said he wants to return to his own state n amongst his own people as he feels good there..he left a high paying job in USA to return to South India..just bcoz of the love for place n its culture leaving a huge salary package..So personal identity n Culture is huge thing..it gives u a comfort which we feel when we are with our parents(just for comparison)..it has lead to many revolutions in & around the world in different forms..It was fun replying,i replied/said on a serious note though..it was just a fun post!!.but i want to congratulate my friend for this blog who is my child hood School friend..n is a genius..:-
