This is a post that I wanted to post on the 12th of this month… It was great day for me as well as all the fans of KAMAL across the world… Like many other fans had written about his contribution to the industry in the past 50 years and many reviewed his performances of the past. I personally feel to write about this 50 long years of journey is way to difficult and fit all this into a post is impossible. I just though of writing about one scene in the movie “Anbe Sivam”. I would have probably seen this movie more than 25 times. This scene probably took Indian cinema to all new heights. The character Sivan, especially in the second half has had tremendous influence on me. If there is one role of Kamal that I try to imitate, it should be Sivam (of the present times, in the second half). I highlight this because of the kind of contrast that Sivam (Second Half) has from the “Nalla” in the first half.
Sivan does not look good, with a lot of scars in the face. Like any other normal individual he suffers from inferiority complex. He is a practical man. He advises Madhavan (a typical young guy from the current generation) way too often, some thing he hates way too much. And Madhavan (A.Aras) misunderstands him in most part of the movie. Aras also does not tolerate the fact that, Sivam does not get convinced about his views (Again a trait of the modern generation)

And to explain my favorite scene, one needs to know what happens in the movie few scenes before… Aras argues with Sivam about the idea communism in the railway station. The argument turns heated and sensitive, causing a short-tempered Aras to punch Sivam. After initially looking calm, Sivam punches Aras back even harder, causing Aras to bleed. As a result, Aras deceives Sivam into buying water for him and locks the train door, leaving Sivam stranded. On the train, Aras meets a good-looking corporate individual who shares the same interests as Aras (Yugi Sethu), who asks Aras to throw away a pack of biscuits Sivam gave to Aras and instead take his own whisky offering. As Aras wakes up the next day, he realizes that he has been conned again and the corporate man is a thief, and has stolen all of Aras' belongings. The train comes to a halt because a train which travelled on the track before had an accident and it has to be cleared up first. To his surprise, he meets Sivam again at the treatment camp nearby. And Aras also retrieves his belongings as he finds that the thief is also around the camp.
Now to my favourite scene… Sivam tries to tells Aras that not all good looking people are really good, Being well dressed or talking in English does not make a person good. Aras thinks and tells Sivam in a very submissive way “a person can have sacrs in face, be handicapped, speak in tamil, BUT STILL BE A GOOD PERSON”… An obvious reference to Sivam, Which Sivam knows and this statement make Sivam feel very shy…

What a direction!!! Few sentences which can depicts the change of the arrogant nature od Aras… and the message in those few lines… so true… deals with how not judge a person, which most of do in so often in real life!!!
