Yuvvraaj — Music Review

For the first time ARR has composed pure western classical compositions without any Indian elements. Evne though ARR’s last release JTYJN (In hindi) was a hit, it had no classical element in it.
The first track is an Introduction track for the character “Yuvvraaj”. It just has Salman Khan giving an intro along with Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. Everything about the song is fine other than Salman’s dialogue delivery.
The second track on the album “Tu Meri Dost hai” is a fabulous track. Shreya and Rehman have done a great job as singers. The Violin piece is so good that can be heard through the day.
Next track is a Disco Track. ARR disappoints with this track after “Pappu Can’t Dance” and I feel the track is out of place.
The fourth song on the album “Tu Muskura” brings back the classical mood and is also on the slower and romantic side.
The fifth track on the album is “Mastam Mastam” which sounds more like an African composition.
The next track on the album is “zindagi” which is a slow sad song and we have seen Hariharan sing such songs in ARR’s previous albums.
The Seventh track on the album “Dil Ka Rishta” is something that Subhash Ghai has tried to repeat from Taal.
The last original track on the album, “Manmohini” , is a modern version of Indian Classical Songs.
Then in the end comes a remix of “Shano”. The track is shorter than the original one.
This was the most awaited music release of the year. It was expected to be a great set of songs with Subhash Ghai and ARR teaming up after long time. Overall, the tracks were fine and have the classical touch of ARR, but he could not recreate magic of "Taal".
